Seniman Coffee Ubud: Specialty Coffee Café

Seniman is where you go in Ubud when the coffee matters more than the smoothie bowl. We've had coffee here. It's a roaster's café on Jalan Sri Wedari in central Ubud, and Seniman roasts its own beans.

The menu is built around Indonesian coffee. You can have it as espresso, filter or pour-over, and the origins rotate with the seasons, so ask what's on the brew bar that day. Cakes and pastries come from Seniman's own Joni Cheder bakery, and the room is all recycled chairs, rough wooden tables and an industrial fit-out. It's also known as a place people bring laptops to, so expect to share it with people working.

Want to learn the craft too? Seniman runs two-hour coffee workshops at this café every Monday and Saturday, in English and Indonesian. Pick espresso fundamentals, latte art or manual brewing, which covers kit like the Chemex and siphon. Each costs IDR 450,000 per person. Their beans are sold online with shipping abroad.
