Our experience
From the moment we arrived at Vije Boutique Resort, we were enveloped in a sense of profound tranquility that set the tone for our entire stay. The gentle sound of flowing water from the Bentuyung river below created a natural soundtrack that complemented the lush jungle surroundings.
Waking up to misty morning views of emerald forests from our private villa was nothing short of magical. We particularly treasured our early morning excursion to Ubud's local market, where we sampled exotic fruits and watched as locals bartered for fresh produce and handcrafted goods.
The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the afternoon we spent at the horizon-edge pool. With the jungle canopy stretching before us and the occasional glimpse of tropical birds soaring overhead, time seemed to stand still as we alternated between cooling dips and lounging with refreshing coconut water in hand.
The staff's genuine warmth made us feel less like guests and more like welcomed friends. Their intimate knowledge of local customs and willingness to share insights into Balinese traditions enhanced our cultural experience immeasurably. When they arranged for us to attend a ceremony at Pura Pengaji temple, we were able to witness a side of Bali that many visitors never see.
As the sun set each evening, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink above the jungle canopy, we couldn't help but feel we had discovered a perfect balance of authentic Bali and luxurious comfort at Vije Boutique Resort.
For the most magical experience at Vije Boutique Resort, arrange to wake up before dawn at least once during your stay. The staff can prepare a sunrise breakfast picnic basket for you to take to the Campuhan Ridge. The 45-minute trek offers stunning panoramic views as the first light illuminates the misty valleys, and you'll beat both the heat and the crowds that arrive later in the day. On your return, book the "Morning Ritual" spa treatment which uses locally harvested herbs and spices to rejuvenate your body after the hike. Request the garden-facing treatment room for the most serene experience as tropical birds serenade you during your massage.

The location is perfect because you get the peaceful rainforest setting away from Ubud's busy streets, but you're still close enough to easily visit all the main attractions. Most guests rent a scooter to get around, or you can arrange transport through the resort for longer trips.
What really sets Vije apart is its incredible horizon-edge infinity pool that literally hangs over the Bentuyung river ravine - the views are nothing like anything else in Ubud.
