About Bebek Tepi Sawah
Bebek Tepi Sawah is the place to go in Ubud if you want Balinese duck with the rice fields right beside your table. We've eaten here. This Peliatan restaurant is the original: it opened in 1999, and there are now branches in Tuban, Kuta Beachwalk, Nusa Dua and Batu Belig.
Duck is the reason to come. The crispy duck is deep-fried and served with Balinese vegetables, steamed rice and three sambals, and it's the dish the restaurant is known for. Grilled duck comes the same way. Bebek betutu is the smoked version, and bebek timbungan is duck braised in bamboo with spices. Not a duck person? There's mixed grilled seafood and ayam goreng lengkuas, fried chicken with galangal.
Duck mains ran IDR 145k to 159k on the venue's current menu, and 16.6% tax and service goes on top. It's been on Jalan Raya Teges in Peliatan for over 25 years, and the menu proudly lists the Indonesian presidents who've eaten here.
