Villa Merah Merah: A Villa Stay near Ubud

Villa Merah Merah is a small set of ten one-bedroom units on Jalan Raya Sebali in Keliki, the village north of Ubud on the Tegallalang side. We stayed here. It's managed by Fays Hospitality and suits couples: every unit is one bedroom, and eight of the ten have a private pool. The operator sells it on its rice-field views.

Pick the room type carefully, because it decides whether you get a pool. The two One Bedroom Suites (about 36 m², twin beds) have a balcony and use the shared pool. Every other category has its own: the two One Bedroom Villas (about 37 m²), four One Bedroom Deluxe units (56 m²), and two Grand One Bedrooms at 128 m² with a separate sitting area. All of them have a bath and a shower.

There's a restaurant on site, Club Merah Merah, plus a poolside bar and a 24-hour front office. Don't expect to walk into town, though. Neka Art Museum is about 4 km away and the Campuhan Ridge Walk about 6 km, so you'll be on a scooter or using a driver. Karsa Spa is about a 13-minute walk.
