The Ground Bingin: padel prices, courts and hours

The Ground is a padel club with its own restaurant, bar and pro shop, down The Ground Gang in Pecatu, the Bingin side of Uluwatu. Four courts, each with a name: Le Rose, Le Central and Le Violet for doubles, and Le Single. Yes, an actual singles court, at Rp 300,000 an hour.

Doubles cost Rp 400,000 for 60 minutes or Rp 600,000 for 90, per court. Split four ways, that's Rp 100,000 each. The courts are covered, though the club has written that the blue court at the edge of the roof caught wind and rain, and that it was extending the roof over it.

Coaching is led by Manu, a Spanish head coach, with Andes as the second coach. The academy runs 90-minute sessions for groups of four with both coaches on court: Rp 550,000 for one, or Rp 2,200,000 for four a month. Social events run on Monday, Thursday and Sunday evenings. • Staying a few weeks? Buy credit. Rp 2.5 million gets you Rp 3 million of club credit, and Rp 10 million gets Rp 13 million. It covers coaching and rentals as well as courts.
• Racket hire is Rp 50,000. A premium racket is Rp 100,000. Lessons come with the court and a racket, balls too.
• Mind the event nights. Monday, Thursday and Sunday from 18:30 to 20:30 are given over to social events, and opening hours shift on event days.
• Stay for dinner. There are changing rooms and showers, and the restaurant and bar are on site.
