Bali Padel Academy, Canggu: prices and coaching

Bali Padel Academy is on Jalan Babakan Kubu, out among the rice fields of Canggu. We've played here.

All seven courts are panoramic and semi-indoor, under 14-metre ceilings, so rain doesn't stop play. One is a centre court with a gallery for 200 spectators. Court hire is priced per person: IDR 150,000 for an hour, IDR 195,000 for 90 minutes. The club says a singles booking is priced the same as doubles.

Coaching is what the name promises. BPA is the international headquarters of the NOX Future Academy, and lessons follow the NOX method. There are levelled matches, social leagues and tournaments. The front desk will even find you players at your level.

Off court you get a NOX pro shop and a restaurant called Bandeja, plus an infinity pool over the paddies and a sauna and ice bath. The catch is cost. Four players pay IDR 600,000 for an hour, and lessons start at IDR 500,000 each. For other courts nearby, see our Canggu padel guide.

• Book in the Playtomic app. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead for a full refund; inside that you lose half.
• Use the concierge. Give the front desk a day and time (WhatsApp +62 817-1710-7000) and they'll match you with players of your level.
• Buy a pack if you're staying a while. Paying IDR 3 million at the front desk gets you IDR 3.5 million of credit, and bigger packs give more.
• Pay for recovery through the wallet. The sauna and ice bath day pass is IDR 70,000 from your BPA Playtomic wallet against IDR 130,000 otherwise.
• Try before you buy. Racket hire is IDR 50,000, and the pro shop lets you test NOX models.
